North coast stall holder prepares to export to China

DID anyone catch the article in the Northern Rivers Echo this week about a mum from Larnook (in-between Lismore and Kyogle) who struck up a deal at her local markets to sell her hand-made kid’s clothes to China?

Dianne Alberth has been making kids’ clothes and selling them at the Byron and Bangalow Markets for the past five years, when a chance meeting with the creative director of home and lifestyle for Lane Crawford, a fashionable department store in Beijing and Hong Kong, gave her the opportunity to export.

Dianne’s brand Wanawara will be placed alongside big name labels such as Givenchy and Stella McCartney when they are officially launched in Hong Kong on April 16.

Go Dianne!

It’s a great story of success and we wish her well. For the full story, visit the Northern Rivers Echo. The story was written by Andy Parks and published on April 13, 2012.
