GUEST POST: Made with Love Markets Coffs Harbour
Hi, I’m Alison Paul, one of the organisers of the Made with Love Markets held four times a year in Coffs Harbour.
Our market started in May 2011 where we had around 27 stallholders and by 11am with people flocking through the doors, we knew we were onto something.
Eight markets later and a change of venue three times we finally have our new home at C.ex Coffs Harbour. Being an indoor market we don’t have to worry about the weather and it suits the lovely boutique handmade and indie designers we have.
Our next market is on Sunday March 17th from 9am – 2pm and we have over 100 stallholders booked.
I am sure for those 100 stallholders and myself as organiser, these final two weeks means a lot of long hours pulling everything together, a messy house and a whole collection of mental notes! There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes but I put it down to the handwork and talent of our stallholders making such gorgeous, high quality and items that are clearly made with love – that make the markets such a success.
While there are lots of baby and children’s clothing and toys and other items there is plenty for adults as well with women’s clothing, jewellery, home wares, speciality teas, plants, candles, artwork, hats and even something for your family pet!
There is entertainment for the kids with plaster painting, face-painting by Fun2Play Party and Event Services and Brett the Balloon guy. There is a café and downstairs at C.ex you can take the family for a great lunch in the bistro.
We have plenty of visitors and stallholders coming from out-of-town, so if you are thinking of coming to Coffs for a special trip –please do, you’ll love it!
We have more markets coming in June, September and December. You can check the website for more information www.madewithlovemarkets.com
